Ok, I’m going to try this thing where I share real outfits that I wear to work on a weekly basis on my blog. Sans the 85 mm. As in, selfies. As in, hashtag o-o-t-d.
I know what you’re thinking: Revolutionary! A true visionary! A star is born! The lack of novelty, believe it or not, is not lost on me. As they say in the great American classic Mean Girls, “I’m not a regular blogger, I’m a woke blogger.”
Seriously, though, I’ve received lots of positive feedback on my recent uploads to Instastories, which have, as of late, manifested as on-the-fly mirror shots snapped before I rush out the door to the office. Turns out, people who follow me actually want to see my face! Weird, huh? So, like any great (read: thirsty) social influencer, I resolved to give the people what they want. Thus, The Sartorial Grind was born.
By way of background, I’m an attorney. And no, sorry, I don’t watch Suits (though I’m running out of shows and I just might begrudgingly add it to my queue). I work as in-house counsel for a company that makes technology for advertising. We’re encouraged to embrace our personal styles, and we don’t *really* have a work dress code. Gun to my head, if I had to label it, I’d call it Casual Chic. Bottom line, I have lots of freedom with my sartorial choices, which I find very liberating. Look good, feel good, play good, am I right?!
Anyway, in hopes that this series might provide you with one or more of the following (amusement, outfit inspiration, mindless scrolling material), I’ll be bringing it to you weekly, with a total of seven outfits per installment. Disclaimer: I am not advocating for you to break any written dress codes; that might get you fired (duh).
You know the drill: scroll through the images below for links to each piece, plus similar pieces if they’ve sold out. If you’re into this series, let me know in the comments below. We all need a little positive reinforcement now and then, my friends.
